Forest Range Studios is a place for creating and recording music in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
The studio is located 30 minutes from the CBD in the Adelaide Hills with uninterrupted views over
the neighbouring conservation park.

The studio offers sound engineering and technical support, or can be dry hired. There are options to stay overnight for a more immersive experience.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay respect to Elders past and present and extend that to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. We are based on Peramangk and Kaurna land. It is stolen land.

Spaces

Live Room

  • Our 9m x 5m x 3.3m high live room has natural light and views over the surrounding conservation park.

  • Large double-glazed windows give direct visibility to and from the control room.

  • Designed and constructed with acoustic isolation in mind.

Control Room

  • Comfortable, acoustically treated space, centred around the large format, beautiful sounding DDA - DMR12 audio console.

  • Track up to 44 channels digitally into the DAW, or to the Sony APR-24P 2 inch 24 track analog tape machine (or both).

  • Separate acoustically isolated rack room to eliminate unwanted noise in the control room.

  • Extensive patching into all useable areas of the facility including single mode fibre to the cottage and workshop for multi-channel “audio over IP” connections. This provides flexibility for larger recordings sessions where isolation is critical.

Lounge / Green Room

  • Relaxing space outside of the work areas.

  • Slow combustion heater using wood from our woodlot keeps things toasty warm in winter.

Catering Space

  • Coffee & kitchen facilities available for your stay.

The Pool

  • Natural water to cleanse and refresh your body after a long session…
