IN-HOUSE ENGINEER
Lucinda
Growing up learning music from the age of 8, then having to help build a recording studio with her Dad Mark, it made sense for Lucinda to pursue a career in sound production.
She studied sound production in 2021 and has quickly advanced in writing, producing, engineering and mixing music across multiple genres, being frequently sought out by local bands and artists.
Having been brought up playing classical cello, Lucinda started a solo project with cello at the forefront and from this, quickly became involved in numerous bands and session gigs. This experience gave Lucinda valuable insights into the process of writing, recording, producing and mixing, increasing her ever growing chops as a producer / sound engineer.

IN-HOUSE TECHNICIAN
Mark
Mark likes rock…. He has a background in the technical side of broadcast and post-production, but being a member of the seminal Adelaide band “Trouserfest” since 1990 fuelled his desire to build a space for the artistic creation of music of all types. Mark can engineer your session, maintain the equipment, build experimental devices and systems to create unique sounds, and be joyful when the “pieces of art” that are created at Forest Range Studios, enter the world!

COMMUNITY
ALI
As co-founder of Forest Range Studios, Ali has closely guided the aesthetic of the build, from the decision to keep the original shedding, through to the masterstroke of having natural light and views from the live room. Ali’s view is that the well-being and comfort of the artist is equally as important as the technical and acoustic aspects to capture the ultimate performance.

Our team is here to run your session, or you can bring your own preferred engineer, and we can provide an assistant familiar with the studio.
EQUIPMENT AND TECHNICAL INSPIRATION
David “Dor-Dor” Machin
Many of the “interesting” pieces of equipment in the studio have come via Mark’s late father, David. He was a respected engineer in the cinemas and drive-ins in Qld, NSW, and NT throughout the 1950’s until the 1990’s. He couldn’t bring himself to throw out some of the magnificent valve based equipment when the transition to solid state took place, so much of it ended up under his house in Brisbane. Now, much of that collection is at FRS, and he would be happy to see it being put to use again.
